well

I sold the Insight.

dewd, it’s cake

Angelko, my coworker, bought me cake today. And he bought Hilary cake too.

Because we are both “bitchin’ bitches”. :)

(It’s vegan, and full of icing, and gooooooooooooooood.)

the scoop

Ok. You want to know the scoop? I’ll give you a scoop.

A heaping scoop of stupidity.

I placed not one, but *two* ads in The Mercury about this really freakin cute indie rocker boy at Bakery Bar. And fuck if those jerks didn’t print both of them*.

Just call me a stalker.

*I just did it for a laugh! For some attention at work! (Cause I’m a whore like that…) I did them online thinking there are DOZENS submitted online… there’s no possible WAY they’d print MINE. Ugh. Ugh ugh… UGH.

brilliant

Dude. I’ve decided to run off and help m with her pilates/massage venture.

See ya!

going the long ways

I was a huge fan of Long Way Round. Just a ridiculously awesome way to spend one’s time, in my opinion. It was a documentary series with Ewan McGregor and Charley Boorman traveling by motorcycle around the world, totaling around 19,000 miles.

While researching what would happen if I got a flat tire on our trip, I saw an article about Long Way Down, which is happening right fucking now!

I <3 motorcycling. :)

Sigh!

versus safety

So I finished with the oil change in the bike last night, then I spent a good hour or so cleaning it. I took some time to read over what else was supposed to happen for the 600 mile maintenance. I don’t think, from the looks of things*, the previous owner did any maintenance on it and I’d rather have everything done and know it was safe to ride anyway, even if I were being redundant. Some of the things I can’t really do at home because of lack of tools and experience.

Today, I caved and took it to a shop a few blocks from work to have them do a once-over on it. I just don’t want to take any risks. I know there’s a plug in the rear tire and before I even brought the bike in they told me they can’t inspect the plug, that it’s a liability for them. I need to replace the tire before going on the trip, basically. So I told them to give me a quote on it. I’ll probably do that in July.

I figure, it’s only a hundred or so bucks, and the comfort of mind is priceless. This isn’t a replacement for learning about the bike or trying to maintain it on my own, I just want them to tell me if anything’s up. It’s been ridden for 1,700 miles with no one checking on it and that worries me.

*When I went to remove the oil filter, I noticed it was a Suzuki brand filter so I think it might have been the original one.
