stress

I think my brain is taking a shit.

Does anyone else feel like a total retard when dealing with insurance companies? I feel like every step I make regarding this stupid accident I have to call three people and find out what I’m supposed to do.

The score right now goes like this… Basically $960 of the estimate for the repairs on the bike is going to the stock pipe. Unreal, right? After making a few calls I found out that I can basically put a nicer (cheaper) slip-on pipe (similar to what I had before on the ‘03) and pocket the difference which, in this case, will amount to something close to $500.

So I went into the shop today and looked through a catalog of slip-ons and chose the Yoshimura. (It was either the Yoshimura or the Two Brothers and the Yoshi was quieter.) The ‘03 SV had the same pipe in addition to the entire exhaust system plus the Power Commander. I could either do just the slip-on, or the pipe/exhaust/Power Commander combo. I would love go with the latter but it costs about $1,100 for the whole thing and I’m not looking to spend extra cash on this bike at the moment.

Yesterday I went to see a doctor about my knees and then was referred to an xray place this morning. I am, for some reason, paying out of pocket for the xrays because the stupid xray place won’t bill directly to Geico and I don’t have personal injury protection on the motorcycle policy. (I better get reimbursed.)

Lovely.

As far as work is concerned, today we launched the new site. Basically, 80% of the focus was the new store, which we’re still making updates to. The store will be the foundation for our other sites.

I am super happy with the functionality and look of the store. For the first e-commerce site I’ve done, (and one I’ve done mostly with CSS), I’m pretty freakin’ proud of it. The rest of the site, however, needs to be updated. I basically copied everything from the old site. So that’s what I’ll be working on now… integrating new, updated content into the static pages.

Sigh.

Frankly, I’ve had it this week. Between rental cars and doctor’s bills and telephone calls and working extra hours I’m looking forward to a long weekend.

The BG and I are planning to jet outta Oregon early Friday and head south to the redwoods in northern California.

Can’t waittt.

(But first, I’m going to see Hot Fuzz tonight with Jay. Yay!)
